Days 1-2: Start Small
Sprinkle ½ tsp. of hydrated food over their regular meal to introduce the new texture and aroma. Cats find comfort in the textures and tastes they grew up eating and need to get acquainted on their terms.
Days 3-4: Mix & Match
Mix around 1-2 tsp. hydrated food into their meal. Don’t worry if they pick around it at first – cats test new textures slowly. Just like they have to warm up to new people, they need time to get used to new foods, too!
Days 5-7: Ratio Time
Gradually increase the ratio of old food to hydrated food until you reach a 50/50 blend. This is when cats begin to embrace new textures. (Party time.)
Ongoing: Serve Their Way!
Cats are very particular about texture. Play around with hydration level, water or broth temperature, and flavor rotation until you find that sweet spot. Try as a kibble topper or mix with water for a thick & hearty hydrating meal.
